Caring for Crystals

To cleanse your crystal jewelry from unwanted/negative energies, please follow the methods described below. Do not submerge in water. All jewelry materials are high quality, but in order to maintain each piece in its best condition, we recommend not showering or bathing while wearing your Interconnected Jewels pieces. Please be mindful that lotions and perfumes can affect the metals in your jewelry. Use a jewelry polishing wipe to restore the shine to your metal jewelry.

Overall, crystals and crystal jewelry can be fragile and should be handled with care.

Caring for crystals may seem overwhelming, but once you figure out the best methods for your needs, crystal care becomes much easier!

Please feel free to do your own research (online, books, healers, etc.) about different ways to care for and work with crystals. Here is my favorite crystal book for beginners

I like meditating with my crystals, and I often keep some in my pockets, on my desk, on my altar, and I wear a lot of my crystal jewelry creations. Below are some methods for cleansing your crystals from negative/unwanted energy.

  • Place crystals under the full moonlight (I like placing mine on my windowsill)
  • Light some sage and let the smoke drift towards your crystals. Please do your own research regarding indigenous practices and the usage of sage.
  • Keep selenite (a self-cleansing and purifying crystal) close to your other crystals
  • Bathe crystals in saltwater (not all crystals can be placed in water. General rule of thumb: if the crystal name ends in "ite", do not submerge in water for extended periods.

All metals naturally darken over time. This is known as the oxidizing process. Even if they are coated with an "anti-tarnish" sealant, metals will oxidize, just at a much slower pace. Most of my jewelry pieces are made with raw metals unless otherwise noted. I like the natural metal look, especially in copper. To keep your metals' bright, raw finish, simply polish your jewelry with a jewelry polishing wipe, and it'll look as good as new! For a vintage look, allow jewelry pieces to naturally darken overtime.
