Hi, I’m Alicia, I’m 29 years old, and have greater than age-appropriate frontal and temporal lobe loss. I struggle with brain fog, speech difficulties, fatigue, and memory issues. All of these symptoms started just a few years ago and have deeply impacted by ability to function on a daily basis. I don’t really have any answers and it’s possible I may never know what caused my brain atrophy. My doctor even said this just might be the way my brain is naturally, but she believes my PTSD may be the culprit.

Our frontal lobe manages executive functions, problem solving, planning, movement, speech, behavior, and personality.

Our temporal lobe processes sounds, understands spoken language, forms long-term memories, and recognizes faces and objects.

As I continue going to therapy to address my PTSD and other mental health struggles, I am going above and beyond to heal my brain atrophy through a holistic approach. I just finished grad school. I am an avid reader. I am learning my 5th language. I create crystal jewelry. I try to incorporate movement and a balanced diet into my daily life as much as possible. I am always exploring different ways to strengthen my existing neural connections and develop new ones. That is why I started creating art prints to share with y’all.

Hope Vol. 1 was created completely with my non-dominant (left) hand. This can spark neuroplasticity - the brain’s ability to adapt, reorganize, and change itself. Using my non-dominant hand for routine activities forces my brain to break away from autopilot. Repeated practice can increase communication between different regions and strengthen those pathways.

Your purchase allows me to continue healing.
